Dr. Laurie Olshansky was born in Moscow and emigrated to America with her family when she was four, ultimately settling in Wellesley, a suburb of Boston. She graduated with an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University, and then attended Ross University Veterinary School and Louisiana State University, where she completed her clinical year. After an internship in Los Angeles, Laurie returned to San Francisco working full-time at Pets Unlimited prior to the birth of her first child.
Laurie currently provides veterinary care to PAWS clients. PAWS is an organization that assists people with low income and disabling illnesses who would otherwise not be able to afford healthcare for their animals.
Laurie is also a member of the Exploratorium Board of Trustees. She and her husband, Josh, live in San Francisco with their three children.
